The Navy’s Operational Flotilla 2 has received the first two modernised Rapid C-810 standby and operational boats, which will be deployed on the F123 and F124 class frigates.
The main changes of the modernisation are the new drive train and new radio and navigation systems. The drive train consists of a 350 hp engine, a matching gearbox and a water jet drive.
In addition, the boats have shock-absorbing seats following the modernisation.
The first boat has already been installed on the frigate “Hamburg”. There it is used as a rescue boat for sea rescue, operationally as a so-called boarding boat and for transporting people and materials. In addition to the two modernised boats, the navy also has twelve Legacy rescue boats.
