British defense contractor BAE Systems is expanding and modernizing its production facility in Rochester.
The 1,600 employees at this site specialize in aerospace technologies, including head-up displays, helmet-mounted displays, flight control computers, and active control sticks for civil and military aircraft. A new 32,000-square-meter plant will be added, creating 300 jobs over the next five years. This project is part of BAE’s ongoing investments in the UK. Other projects include a £300 million shipyard upgrade in Glasgow and over £200 million to modernize the UK munitions business. Additionally, BAE continues to invest in research, skills, national supply chains, and local communities.
“Our skilled workforce plays a crucial role in delivering products essential for national security and commercial aviation,” said Dave Banks, Director of BAE Systems’ Rochester Business Centre.
