It can be called a special moment in both senses: Almost simultaneously with the integration of the Dutch 13th Light Brigade into the German 10th Armoured Division came the official interdepartmental approval by the government from Den Hague: The Netherlands as a Partner nation of the BSC 2023.
With the ceremony on March 30, 2023, all brigades of the Dutch Field Army were integrated into the divisions of the German Army. This strengthens cooperation up to supply and maintenance and is a unique example of the greatest possible interoperability as well as the best possible fulfilment of alliance defence.
Every year since 2012 until now we have had Partner nations, which provided an excellent support to the programme and demonstrated their outstanding hospitality at the Pre-Event Reception in their embassies. The partnership with these many nations has been a highlight of all former BSCs and will remain an essential part of the congress in the future.
The BSC team is therefore particularly pleased that this year we can work closely with the Embassy of the Netherlands for the successful preparation and implementation of the conference. In this way, we are also setting an example of the close cooperation between the two countries in this area.
