The Bundeswehr has commissioned TDW GmbH to supply 2,600 anti-tank guided mines (PARM). The company and the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAInBW) signed the contract on November 14, 2023.
PARM is a fully automatic anti-tank guided mine that is suitable for fighting modern tanks. The mine is so compact that it can be carried by a single soldier. In addition, it has a modular design so that modifications with different sensors or a remote control can be easily implemented. TDW sees the order as a milestone on the way to expanding its production capacities. “We are convinced that PARM will help Germany and other nations to develop and expand their area denial capabilities,” says Andreas Seitz, Managing Director of TDW. TDW Gesellschaft für verteidigungstechnische Wirksysteme mbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of MBDA Germany. The company develops and manufactures warheads and warhead systems, including the associated fuses and safety devices. The parent company MBDA employs around 14,000 people. It is a joint venture between Airbus (37.5 percent), BAE Systems (37.5 percent) and Leonardo (25 percent).
