The Romanian Armed Forces have contracted Polaris Government and Defence to deliver more than 50 Dagor tactical light vehicles. Romania is procuring the vehicles through the U.S. Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program.
The light vehicles are intended for troop transport. They are assembled from commercially available individual parts and can carry up to 1.814 kilograms. The system is modular and can be adapted to different operating conditions. For example, seating areas can also serve as cargo compartments. In addition, the system is suitable for aerial transport and deployment. There is interoperability with CH-47 and CH-53 helicopters, and the C-130 transport airplane can accommodate the Dagor in its cargo bay. Dagor is the fastest vehicle in its class. The engine can be run on diesel or JP 8 fuel. With a full tank, the range is about 800 kilometers. In addition to supplying the vehicles, Polaris is tasked with maintenance and teaching the Romanians how to handle them.
