In addition, the Polish Ministry of Defense is procuring an armored transport vehicle. Although the Ministry is generally satisfied with the KTO Rosomak wheeled armored vehicle from the Polish company Siemianowice Śląskie, it feels that it lacks modification options. For this reason, it is turning away from the wheeled armored vehicle built under Finnish license (Patria Armored Modular Vehicle) in favor of an in-house development. The company plans to build its own vehicle on the same platform. Błaszczak also expects the new development to be successful on the export market.
In addition to the aforementioned procurement and development projects, the Ministry of Defense is aiming to put another platform into service. A light reconnaissance vehicle for use by mechanized infantry completes the procurement triumvirate. The course of the war in Ukraine had made the value of rapid reconnaissance capability clear.
